They are divided into two core sub-types: fast-acting fuses, which trigger within milliseconds to protect sensitive semiconductor electronics and precision instruments; and time-delay (slow-blow) fuses, which can withstand short-term inrush currents without false tripping, making them ideal for motor loads, transformers and capacitive circuits. They deliver reliable, low-cost and fully code-compliant protection for home appliances, automotive low-voltage systems and industrial control panels.

The second category is Resettable Fuses (Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient, PPTC), a revolutionary maintenance-free alternative to one-time designs. Unlike traditional fuses, these polymer-based composite devices do not destroy themselves during a fault. When an overcurrent event occurs, the polymer matrix heats up rapidly, shifting from a low-resistance conductive state to an ultra-high-resistance state, effectively limiting current and protecting the circuit. Once the fault is cleared and the device cools down, it automatically resets to its normal low-resistance state, eliminating the need for replacement. This makes them the preferred choice for portable consumer electronics, USB charging ports, rechargeable battery packs and wearable devices, where repeated protection and zero maintenance are critical.

The third category is High Rupturing Capacity (HRC) Fuses, engineered for high-power, high-voltage industrial and grid-level scenarios. Encased in reinforced, explosion-proof ceramic housings filled with high-purity quartz sand arc-quenching media, these fuses can safely interrupt extreme fault currents up to hundreds of kiloamperes without generating hazardous arcs, explosions or thermal runaway. They are indispensable components in power distribution grids, renewable energy (solar PV and wind power) inverter systems, heavy industrial machinery and high-voltage switchgear, providing robust, fail-safe protection for high-energy electrical circuits.

These three core fuse categories cover the full spectrum of low-voltage general-purpose, maintenance-free portable and high-power grid-level protection requirements.
